About The Hartford’s Junior Fire Marshal® Program
Across the country, a home fire starts every 87seconds. That’s why for more than 70 years, The Harford has been dedicated to teaching kids how to prevent fires and what to do if they face one. Over 111 million kids have been deputized through The Hartford’s Junior Fire Marshal Program.

The National Junior Fire Marshal® Day Free LIVE Online Educational Event
Join The Hartford in celebrating National Junior Fire Marshal® Day on October 6 by registering for a free live online fire safety educational event for students in grades K-3. Led by a teacher anda firefighter, this 30-minute presentation features engaging demonstrations and videos that guide students through these important fire safety lessons:
•Matches and lighters are for grown-ups
•Smoke alarms are important
•Create and practice your escape plan
•Establish your outside meeting place. Students also take a virtual tour of a fire safety trailer and become Junior Fire Marshals by reciting the Junior Fire Marshal pledge. All students receive an official Junior Fire Marshal certificate and video congratulations from real firefighters from across the country.
